Republican National Convention to Recycle

Red states may rule at the Republican National Convention, but this year’s event in Minneapolis is adding a little “green” with the addition of nearly 300 recycling stations throughout the Xcel Energy Center.

The bins will be plastic in one container. Recyclables will then be collected and sorted by Waste Management, who is providing the service along with Coca-Cola Recycling LLC. Bottles and cans will be shipped to the Coca-Cola bottling plant in Eagan, Minn.

The convention will run from September 1-4. The city of Denver has already committed to making the Democratic National Convention the “greenest in history.”
