I disagree with harvey. Here’s how it works, lazy money grubbing eco hater wannabees:
How long can billions of people dump their crap on a plant before everyone is living on or in a garbage dump. Your great grand kids need to know Lu and his lazy money grubbing ilk are responsible or would that be irresponsible.

I agree with harvey. Here's how it works, eco wannabees: It's gotta be reasonably EASY for people to deal with their old electronics, or guess what? In the trash they will go.

I'm all for recycling all that can be, anytime. BUT, this simple concept is oft overlooked by lots of eco type groups... in fact, their websites come across all rosey and bubbly about saving the environment, while offering no REAL solutions. ...just fuzzy wuzzy feel-good hippie stuff.

So first, GET REAL. Want people to recycle? ... well so do they! What has to happen is someone like Waste Management or other local pickup having a way for these solids to avoid the landfill stream. For that to become a reality, it's gotta be PROFITABLE (there's a word a lot of lazy eco wannabe doo gooders hate) Yep. Try channeling your passion for the earth into finding a REAL WORLD way to do recycling, and then everyone wins. A better mousetrap always sells. Spend less time weaving hemp sandals and whining about crap, and more time listening to successful private sector business people and let's solve this issue through good economics. THAT'S true sustainability. Oh, and ya, if'n ya put up a website with info that people are obviously looking for, as in where to take old electronics, make sure you update it more than once every 2 years, lol.

@harvey If recycling made economic sense, folks would be /paying you/ to do it. If you disagree with current economic sense, feeling they aren't accounting for environmental cost, and you feel the cost is worth the environmental benefit, recycling may be for you.

How much environmental cost is there in a pile of materials laying beneath a made make green space (i.e. landfill)? Opinions vary...

Hello Jennifer, PLEASE UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE.

This program never got off the ground. The Office Depot in Falls Church VA explained it to me. Office Deport never received the funding for the recyclers company or Government. We turned in old monitors May of 2008 - they charged us $15/box. Same in 2009, we asked them when we were there again and that's when they told us. If the funding went through - someone got rich!

Jennifer: Two local Ofc Depots know nothing--1 would sell us a recycle box for $15.00. The main 866 number was polite--but he more or less said it was a work in progress and the values for equipment on the website were being re-evaluated. Said send equipment and Ofc Depot would be in touch.....well ....

We think you need to wait and see b/4 locking OD in as an alternative.

Your overall goal is much appreciated.
