Steelcase Receives FSC Certification
Steelcase, a leading global office furniture manufacturer, recently received Forest Stewardship Council certification, ensuring that its wood products originate from well-managed forests.
“From design to production, Steelcase is constantly seeking more effective ways to conserve resources, prevent pollution and nurture environmental consciousness,” said Nancy Hickey, senior vice president, chief administrative officer of Steelcase.
Steelcase’s certification co-insides with the company’s other environmental initiatives. The Steelcase Wood operation works out of the world’s first LEED certified manufacturing facility, opened in 2001. Steelcase also has the most Cradle to Cradle product certifications in the industry and also received awards from the U.S. EPA’s WasteWise program for waste prevention, recycling collection and recycling manufactured content products for the past six years.
