Paper Recycling Up in Europe

The European Recovered Paper Council (ERPC) announced earlier this month that EUWID.

This puts the ERPC right on target to meet its voluntary goal of a 66 percent recycling rate by 2010.

Rates have increased significantly in the EU27, Switzerland and Norway over the past three years. The total amount of paper collected and sent to recycling mills was 60.1 million tons last year. The recycling volume has increased by 7.6 million tons compared with baseline data collected in 2004.
