Apple’s New Green Notebook

Recently unveiling a new MacBook family at its Cupertino headquarters, Apple calls the new laptops the “industry’s greenest notebooks,” according to EnvironmentalLeader.com.

Saying the new line meets Energy Star 4.0 requirements, the new laptops are created from recyclable PVC-free components.

Apple also reported growth in its takeback programs, with recycling volume growing 57 percent in 2007.

While one-third of adult Internet users consider Apple to be the most eco-friendly consumer technology brand, Greenpeace’s Guide to Green Electronics scored Apple at 4.1 on a 10-point scale.
