VA Residents Can Support Recycling Through New License Plate

The Virginia Recycling Association (VRA) recently announced a special interest plate for the Commonwealth of Virginia. In celebration of America Recycles Day (Nov. 15), all applications for the new recycling license plate received by Nov. 15 will automatically enter those applicants in a drawing for a $100 prize.

“The plate will show support for recycling and raise awareness, which is critical to our efforts in the battle to keep valuable material resources out of our landfills,” said Erica Trout, VRA spokesperson. “And people can feel proud that $15 of each $25 plate purchased will help fund programs and initiatives aimed at increasing opportunities for growing recycling in Virginia.”

Applications and instructions can be found on the VRA site.

The VRA is hoping to generate the necessary minimum of 350 pre-paid applications for the special interest recycling plate by the 2009 General Assembly session in order to begin printing the plates.
