Super Bowl Program to Reuse Books, Sports Equipment

For the 10th consecutive year, the National Football League will be collecting and donating books and sports equipment to schools in the Super Bowl’s host city, Tampa Bay, Fla., next February.

The program, called “Super Kids-Super Sharing,” will begin collecting at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers home game on November 30. Tampa schools will also be collecting books and sports gear.

Super Kids-Super Sharing is part of the NFL’s environmental initiative, which also includes donating prepared food to community kitchens and recycling cardboard from the week’s activities. Schools can get involved with Super Kids-Super Sharing by contacting Susan Groh at (401) 732-1551 or NFLenvironment@aol.com.

If you live outside the Tampa area, you can find places to recycle books and reuse sports gear using Earth911.
