Recycling is Easier than Ever with the New Earth911.com
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.—Today marks the 17th birthday of Earth911.com, the national resource for recycling information and solutions. To celebrate, Earth911.com relaunched to provide:
- A fresh look and feel to the site
- Easier navigation to provide a more user-friendly experience, including an advanced content search
- Interactive features such as voting, rating, commenting and sharing through platforms such as Facebook and Myspace
- An updated search engine with in-line search results, mapped locations and detailed descriptions of accepted items
Earth911.com currently houses a recycling search engine listing over 100,000 locations that accept products for recycling, reuse or proper disposal. Consumers in the U.S. and Canada can type in their location and access disposal options for 170 different products, ranging from aluminum cans to zinc-oxide batteries.
Earth911.com partners these listings with content describing why and how these products are recycled. Additionally, improved navigation allows consumers to pinpoint exactly what they want to recycle and access tips for recycling preparation, local news about the product and information about its environmental impact.
“Recycling encompasses more than just what can be dropped off at the curb, and our new site does a great job relaying information how to dispose of all the products in your everyday life,” said Jonathan Smith, president of Earth911.com. “One of the easiest ways to live a greener lifestyle is by reducing what we landfill, so we’re excited at the opportunity to educate people about what all they can recycle.”
Earth911.com invites you to celebrate its 17th birthday by eating an organic cake, drinking punch (from reusable cups) and leaving a birthday comment on its new site.
