Tennessee Community Offers Prizes for Recycling Pledges

To celebrate America Recycles Day, Keep McMinn Beautiful (KMB) is giving away prizes, including a $100 gift basket featuring recyclables and recycled material for those who pledge to recycle on November 8.

According to Joy Rymer, KMB’s executive director, by signing the official recycling promise, the form “also enters you in drawings for local, state and national prizes.” The local grand prize is the $100 gift basket, sponsored by Ingles Markets.

Interested Tennesseans can visit the Athens Recycling Center from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. with recyclables in hand, including paper, aluminum cans, plastic bottles and tin cans. Local elementary school students and parents will be available to help residents with recycling and proper sorting techniques.
