CA Conference Focuses on ‘Greening’ Schools
Green Technology is holding the Green California Schools Summit from December 8-10 in Anaheim, Calif., to shine light on the greening of California’s schools while providing education on topics like green curriculum and green building.
The summit will hold an entire seminar around the issue of waste management, which will address topics like environmentally-preferable purchasing and recycling programs.
Last year, over 200 exhibitors showcased an array of products, from non-toxic paints and carpets, state-of-the-art recycled paper, fuel cell and solar system technology, to eco-friendly, recycled, playground equipment, school gardens, sustainable design concepts and environmental curriculum.
This year, an exhibit hall of green products and services, as well as keynote speeches by Hunter Lovins and Terry Tamminen will be featured. Admission to the exhibit hall and keynote speeches is free.
The U.S. Green Building Council estimates that a green high school can save as much as $100,000 a year in energy expenditures, translating into over $4.2 million over its lifetime.
