Wall-E Celebrates School Recycling

In honor of America Recycles Day and the DVD release of Disney’s Wall-E, Earth911 and Wall-E teamed up to recognize the recycling efforts of Colfax Elementary School in North Hollywood, Calif.

Although Wall-E is a computer-animated film, a life-sized Wall-E robot was on-hand Thursday, November 13, to honor Colfax’s third, fourth and fifth graders for the school’s commitment to recycling initiatives. The school was also presented with a plaque by Earth911.com.

Colfax was recently recognized as a charter school on the basis of its green initiatives, one of which being its recycling programs. At the ceremony, several Colfax students talked about what they do to recycle.

For those who haven’t seen the film, Wall-E is also an avid recycler. The robot was designed to collect and sort the Earth’s garbage while humans have fled to space.

Wall-E was released on DVD Tuesday, November 18.
