Coca-Cola & NRC Award Grants for Recycling Program
Coca Cola and the National Recycling Coalition (NRC) have announced the fall 2008 recipients of the Recycling Bin Grant Program. For eighty-five communities, America Recycles Day was made a little brighter as they were awarded new recycling bins to support community based recycling efforts.

Since its inception, the Bin Grant Program has awarded more than 11,000 recycling bins in 225 communities in 49 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
“This program is a direct way that we can benefit recycling programs on a grassroots level,” said Anjia Nicolaidis, deputy director of the National Recycling Coalition.
Recipients were chosen by the NRC based on a number of criteria, including:
- Where the bins are likely to have the greatest impact for recovering beverage containers
- Program sustainability
- The ability to support community recycling programs
“The Bin Grant Program is designed to help communities and organizations jump-start or expand their recycling programs and to further promote recycling of used bottles and cans,” said Scott Vitters, director of sustainable packaging for The Coca-Cola Company.

I have researched purchasing some additional containers similar to the ones we were awarded. They will be estimated $60 each and they advised me to purchase at least 10 at a time because shipping was going to run me $100 if I purchased 1 container or 10. hello, for many month now, i have been thinking of how to get involved in the recycling of plastic water bottles which has hitherto litter every where in my community.

I work in the Energy Conservation Department for the Hillsborough County School System. We currently have a recycling program for all paper. The two companies that we are dealing with furnish our school sites with a huge bin, the school site fills up the ben, then calls to have the bin picked up, weighed and then given a check for the amount of tonnage they collected. This is a wonderful incentive program for our sites without costing the district one penny.
We do not have a recycling company recycling, plastic or glass. I get calls daily for plastic bottles recycling. Do you have a program that recycles like the paper companies do? If so, please email me the information and a contact person that can help the school district of Hillsborough County. Thanks

We have a great community curbside recycling program where I live and more of the stores are offering bins to collect plasticc bags and styrofoam egg cartons. I would love to see bins like these at stores and fast food resturaunts.

My name is Gary Walker, I am intersted in starting A Plastic & Glass recycling collection center here in the Phoenix Valley. From An email that I received from Carl Smith
Public Works Solid Waste Contracts and Education, He tells me that Arizona does not have a strong central solid waste authority. 1. Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) was working on some rules for storage of solid waste and recyclables, but that process has been dropped for now. 2. most of the cities in the valley, the solid waste and recycling from single family homes is city property. 3.As for markets for plastics, there is nothing in state. Is their any information or contacts that you can help me with that can be useful in starting A collection center here?

I only see people talking about recycling. I don’t see products being sold out of recycled bottles !! Does anyone know if that is being done and or any site that sells recycled products. I have some great ideas !!!????

Hey!
I know that is a programs available for schools but,i just know where can i get the coca-cola recycling bin. it would be great if some one will imformed me about it.Because we are just starting a new program of recycling at our school but we bins for bottle and papers.
