“More than 20,000 people attend Toy Fair each year and we leave behind a lot of trash, so Sprig Toys is very excited to be a part of this new recycling program,” said Sprig CEO Craig Storey. “We hope everyone will be looking for our Sprig bins as they throw away their water bottles, cola cans and sell sheets.”

The Javits Center, where the conference will be held, agreed to recycle the paper, plastic and aluminum for free. Recycled corrugated cardboard receptacles will be positioned near garbage cans on the show floors and emptied regularly.

Recycling has become a greater trend in the toy industry, as consumer’s focus on green products continues to increase. Recent toy recalls may have parents looking closely at toy safety and materials, opening up a big market for eco-friendly and recycled toys.

The material is used to make Sprig Toys, a line of toys powered by kinetic energy, not batteries, containing no decorative paint, minimal packaging and made of eco-friendly bio-composite material.
