It does "simply make sense for this bill to pass". However, the large beer and soda manufacturers have more money to fight this cause, and let's face it...money talks! This bill has not been voted on yet in the Senate...Please, please if you care about this cause and would like to see this bill passed, contact these people by phone or email and ask them to support the bigger, better bottle bill.

Senator Malcolm Smith - Senate Majority Leader, he has not stated his position but we absolutely need his support. 212-298-5585.

Senator Antoine Thompson - Chair of Environmental Conservation Committee. He is a huge supporter, looking for middle ground. Any shoring up he gets is great. If this goes it will be due to his efforts. Please thank him for his support and ask for his continued support. 716-854-8705.

Senator David Valesky -supports in theory but is concerned about small business. Let him know the redemption center side of it, he is from central NY where there are a lot of redemption centers in his district. 315-478-8745.

Assembly Majority Leader Sheldon Silver - he is a supporter, key to the budget negotiations, thank him for support, ask him to continue to push for this legislation. We can't have anybody backing down or negotiating it away. 212-312-1400.

I had never realized, really, that plastic water bottles and the like were not refundable toward customers. It simply makes sense for this bill to pass.
