As far as taking your car in for a new battery yes shops turn them back in to there battery supplier for a core credit. You can also take your batteries to an auto wrecking yard and most of them will pay you a few dollars for the scrap value.

I’m a bit disappointed with AAA. I saw the add for the Earth Day car battery drop off that said ‘stop off at any AAA Central Penn office to recycle items”. I phoned AAA to make sure and nobody knew where to go!! Please can we get our act together or don’t print the add.

Also, the web site FileStoreShred.com maintains a list of free paper shredding and electronics recycling events from coast to coast across the country. Similar to what is mentioned above, these events are faster and easier than trying to dispose of these materials at home.
