Dear Deborah,

Thanks for your interest in cleaning Metapan. I would love to talk to you about our program, what we have accomplished and our plans for the coming year. We are very aware that there still much to be done. Please contact me as soon as possible, since we are in the process of drafting next years program, this is a great time to get any fresh ideas or any other contribution you would like to help us with.

The metapan recycling program is carried out with the participation of the Enrique Figueroa Foundation, CESSA Foundation, Lyons Club and 9,000 students attending 24 schools. The first year, we collected 135,000 pounds, including 30,000 pounds of iron. In 2009, we collected 145,000 pounds of just plastics, paper and cardboard. This coming year, we are expanding and improving the program.

To Whom It May Concern,

I was in Metapan, El Salvador at the end of October and I was very sad to see all the garbage on the streets. I even told my daughter when I returned to the USA that I wanted to help start a clean up program in Metapan when I returned. Now I see that you have one. My boyfriends family does not recycle and do not know about recycling. They live in Metapan.
I am returning to Metapan at the end of December or the first of January and would like to help inform more people about the recycling that is there for everyone. Please contact me and let me know how I and my boyfriends family can participate in the clean up of such a beautiful place.
Sincerely your,
Deborah Reinhold
