Also all talk no action produces nothing. I think Indian politicians/administration should try to set up a system where people can do community work to help keep India clean. It takes money is an excuse. You have to care for your country and write to people who in charge of this to set up a system. India lacks a system. Once a system is set up in place we can make it efficient and cost effective. Write to people who do this for a living so that you can be of help. Last time I saw bunch of Indian IT Engineers drive in their Honda cars, but not be bothered by trash in Bombay. I just cant beleive people can stand that stink. I cant. We traveled by car thru many villages from New Delhi to Agra and then on to Madurai and 3 hours south to a small island called Ravensworman (sp?). The numerous people, noise, animals, poverty, garbage and lack of clean water was constant. We met with professors and they spoke about the immediate concerns: the lack of clean water for the people and the farmers. We all need to do our part to reach out, India is beyond comprehension in its needs. My 16 year old just wrote a paper in her Social Justice class, I quote "Everyone has the right to clean water, food, shelter and basic human resources that God created for us on earth". In Pune, we promote segregation at source, collection of dry waste (inorganic recyclable waste) and wet waste (organic recyclable waste) separately and the waste pickers collect the recyclable waste in about 200,000 homes each day at this point of time and in the process of integrating this system to cover whole of Pune city.
