Going Blonde

Not all of us can be born with sun-kissed tresses. But if you use homemade hair dyes, aren’t you technically still a natural blonde?

Mix up a simple rinse of lemon juice and chamomile tea, and you’ll have lighter locks before you know it.

For the first few treatments, only use lemon juice to test how your hair reacts to the treatment. After a shower, mix one tablespoon of lemon juice with a gallon of warm water and use as a rinse.

If you’re ready for some more lightening power, brew three cups of chamomile tea and cool. Stir in one cup of lemon juice and use as a rinse.

Start using one treatment per day for gradual lightening, or use your rinses repeatedly in one sitting for a faster color change. Keep in mind that the best results often take time.

If you’re trying to go from very dark to very light, it’s going to be difficult to do this with natural dyes. You may see lightening effects, but it will be tricky to get a bottle-blonde color by using natural treatments.
