‘Recycling is No Joke’ Video Contest Launches
Q. Did you hear the one about the aluminium recycling plant? A. It smelt!
Think you have a better recycling joke than this?
If you film it and upload it to the America Recycles Day YouTube page, you can have a chance to win $1,000.
National non-profit, Keep America Beautiful, is hosting the first-ever America Recycles Day “Recycling is No Joke” video contest, open to contestants of all ages, to help celebrate the annual nationwide event aimed at increasing recycling awareness and efforts.
You can view the official rules and more details here, but the idea is simple.
Upload your minute-long joke, skit or comic strip highlighting recycling in a positive, humorous manner by October 28.
The ARD Video Committee will vote on the top 10 winners, which will then be uploaded to a playlist where the public can click the “like” button to vote for their favorites. Voting ends on America Recycles Day, November 15. After that, a first and second place winner will be determined.
The top prize is $1,000 in cash and a prize pack; second place is $500; and the Committee can reward additional prizes as it sees fit.
Here’s your chance to get creative, have some fun and raise awareness about recycling. Happy filming!
[Editor's Note: As of Oct. 17, the entry deadline has been extended to Oct. 28 and the content of this article has been updated to reflect that.]
