You get a pass to leave those Christmas lights up through New Year’s Day, but come Jan. 2 you’ve crossed the tacky line. You can recycle string lights, but one company in China has come up with a clever way to wear their lights. A Chinese recycling factory in Shijiao – which processes a whopping 20 million pounds of old Christmas lights each year – smashes down the colorful lamps to make a very original pair of slippers. We’re not so sure how safe it actually is, but we dig the ingenuity.
