6. Participate in a cleanup
Spend an afternoon on your beach vacay giving back by participating in a local cleanup. If you know where you’ll be headed on your trip, search the municipality’s Website for upcoming cleanups in the area, or type your destination’s name and the words “beach cleanup” into a simple Web search.
In addition to helping out the community and doing your part to save our oceans, participating in a cleanup is also a great way to meet other eco-minded beach-goers. Who knows? You may even make a few friendships that last for many summers to come.
