When I get inspired and sporadically want to craft something, I like having all of my supplies organized and readily available. It is easy for my tools to get chaotically spread about and lost in my apartment, thus putting a damper on the creative process. I work best when I can easily visualize my sizable collection of materials. And after sitting and staring at a bunch of old, cracked plastic tumblers, I finally dreamed up a new way to reuse them and clean up the crafting chaos at once.
Hanging Plastic Tumbler Organizer
My latest “gift” at the office was a bunch of plastic tumblers that had been ridiculously cracked from too many trips through the dishwasher. These types of hard plastic cups have virtually no recycling solutions, so the next step was to find a reuse design for them. I figured they would make great capsules in which to organize and display some of my craft supplies. I also wanted to design something that would be easy to hang and remove from a wall without damaging it.
After a quick trip to the hardware store, and only about $15 dollars spent, I created a hanging wall organizer that is as useful as it is visually appealing.
Note: This project requires some (super simple) advanced preparation!
