Official Treecycle Partners

Official Treecycle Partners

Earth911′s Treecycle Program encourages Christmas tree growers around the nation to support responsible, end-of-life practices for the millions of Christmas trees that will be bought and sold this season.

Treecycling is the practice of recycling Christmas trees in order to extend their usability. Common practices include chipping trees for use as mulch in community areas, erosion protection in fragile areas such as river deltas, underwater habitat creation and shoreline stabilization.

Through the Treecycle Program, each year Earth911 generates the nation’s largest treecycling database from scratch, gathering information for thousands of local events and collection drives around the country that make it easy for people to make the most of their tree by recycling it after the holidays.

Earth911 encourages potential tree-buyers to look for the Earth911 Treecycle Logo, featured on over 8 million trees this year alone. These trees are available at national retailers and local tree lots around the country.

2011 Treecycle Partners

Earth911 is excited to announce its 2011 Treecycle Partners who support sustainable practices that make their trees environmentally friendly. According to experts, buying a live tree is a carbon-neutral purchase that poses very little environmental threat, while at the same time adding dollars to the domestic economy.

This year consumers will be able to purchase Official “Treecycle” Program Trees at the following locations:
