When I go to Lord and Taylor or any other department store and bought dresses or garments. They give me a long plastic bag. I asked Lord and Taylor associate if they recycle the plastic bags she said no. How can I save the planet and still buy a dress when I need to? I don't want those long plastic bags. Ideas.

The best way to deal with this may be to bring a garment bag with you when you shop for dresses, like taking a reusable grocery bag to the store. The plastic film is recyclable, but many programs do not accept it because the film can jam machinery. So, go to Lord & Taylor and, when you are ready to take something home, hand them your garment bag and ask them to use it INSTEAD of the plastic. If you don't make that distinction, they may put the plastic on the dress and then put it in the garment bag.

Hope that helps!
