How do I recycle VHS tapes
Check out How to Recycle CDs and Tapes for some basic information. If possible, see if there's a second-hand store that might want your old VHS tapes.
For recycling, try using the Earth911 Recycling Search and entering your ZIP code to see if there's a location near you that accepts video tapes for recycling.
Also, GreenDisk has various mail-in options for all kinds of "technotrash," including video tapes, but you will have to pay. If you go with their "Technotrash Pack-IT" service, it's $11.95 if your box weighs 25 pounds or less, plus shipping: https://www.greendisk.com/gdsite/default.aspx
Hi, Cynthia. VHS tapes are recyclable and accepted at local and mail-in programs. The case is highly recyclable but the magnetic tape is not in high demand.
You can find programs by adding your ZIP Code to this search: https://search.earth911.com/?what=Video+Tapes&where=zip+code&list_filter=all&max_distance=25&family_id=&latitude=&longitude=&country=&province=&city=&sponsor=
