Piggy Paint, a new brand of nail polish that is being marketed as kid- and eco-friendly because it is non-toxic and made from natural ingredients, is offering several online contests to win both free nail polish and nail polish remover.

According to Hurley, Piggy Paint is "as natural as mud."

The contests are being run by a number of sites, including The Celebrity Cafe and Contest for Moms. Entry dates are scattered throughout February.

Piggy Paint was launched in September after founder Melanie Hurley realized that the polish her two daughters were using could “eat through” a plate made of Styrofoam.

Her 13 shades of polish and remover are made with biodegradable ingredients and are free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone. Nail polish and other personal care products like perfume can often contain ingredients like these that can be toxic to the environment.

The products are also packaged by reusing Styrofoam packing peanuts, which are difficult to recycle.

Because of the ingredients it typically contains, unused nail polish should be recycled with other paint as it can be toxic in landfills.
