I need to find a place that takes used motor oil containers and one-use batteries. I don't want to throw this stuff in a land-fill, but there are no options here for Dublin/Columbus, Ohio.

posted on July 19th, 2011 at 8:05 pm

Hi Kristin! Regarding batteries, there are a few locations within 20 miles of Dublin, but there are also mail-in programs available that might be more convenient (search for Single-Use Batteries above). Regarding your motor oil containers, try searching for #2 plastic recyclers and call ahead to see if they will accept them.

Thank you! Very helpful. I just didn't want to throw this stuff in the trash. But I also didn't want to drive 20 miles away, putting more carbon emissions in the air.

    Hello Richard,
The material you are looking to recycle is called “paperboard”. It looks like there are a number of towns near you that accept this material. Unfortunately, they all have residential restrictions. Perhaps a call to your town’s Environmental Coordinator might prompt some change?
All the best with your search!

Hello, I am starting a business that is going to involve a lot of broken glass. I’m looking for something to do with the broken glass.I really don’t want to just throw the glass out, but would like to recycle it. Is there a company that can come by my business and pick up the glass for recycling? Most of the broken glass will be clear glass, but there will be some ceramic and porcelain pieces also.
Please contact me by email to discuss this more. Thanks for you time.

The are very sturdy hard plastic containers.
