I have always recycled bottles, cans and paper. The problem I’m having now is, I now live in an apartment complex which has no recycling recepticle on the premises. I still separate everything into separate bags (bottles and cans with the crv on it I do take to the recycle center – but what about the rest) but it seems redundit to have to throw them away in with the garbage. What do you suggest I do?

Until you make recycling more simple and streamlined you will never get the average American to go out of their way to participate. California preaches “green’ to the world but it is anything but!! It is depressing to be here and see how little is done. Great website but who pays attention? Check out the NW or Canada for clues as to ‘how to do it’.

i live in an apartment that does not recycle. what i do is to put the plastic bottles and bags, etc., into a separate bag. we get people that go through the dumb bin and this way they dont have to go through food and other loose garbage. hopefully they can get cash for it to buy something to eat. homeless, street people do need to survive.
they should have recycle places that pickup residential recycle items. plastic, cans, paper, glass. it would also help if they would dropoff containers that we can put these items in.
if you know of any places that do, please email me. it would help. i live in cincinnati, ohio.

I’m having the same problem as other’s on here…I live in a complex and we have no recycling bins. Bottles and cans I seperate and sell, but what about the rest of the recyclables. I keep them and ask friends and family if I can deposit these in their bins, but how long until they start getting annoyed. Please help me with some information, I am desperately trying to do the right thing here.
I live in Huntington Park, CA…any information that could be send would be much appreciated.
thank you

My wife and I have accumilated alot of plastic number 2 – Laundry detergent, shampoo and conditioner containers, e.t.c. We get paid for our number 1 bottles. Where can we take these number 2 coloreds and get paid? How about tin cans? where can we recycle them and get a little change $$?
