The impacts of climate change are complicated, but we can all feel the changing seasons and how winter is becoming shorter. Summer is longer, hotter, and drier, while Winter is getting shorter. One study published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, suggests that by 2100, winters may last only two months while summer heat could go on for six months. It may sound like a break from the cold, but this also means the planet atmosphere will have to transfer more heat and cold between the northern and southern hemispheres in less time — that could make winters shorter with far more intense cold.
